Desmond Bane has taken the home gym concept and launched it into another galaxy.
The former TCU basketball star and current Orlando Magic guard has completed a 10,000-square-foot sports barndominium at Possum Kingdom Lake, roughly two hours west of Fort Worth.

Half luxury retreat and half private training complex, the property gives Bane an NBA-level workplace without forcing him to leave his family behind.
That’s not a man cave. It’s a basketball headquarters.
The residence occupies approximately 5,000 square feet and includes multiple gathering spaces, a high-end kitchen, three upstairs bedrooms and a huge balcony overlooking the lake and nearby state park.
Quartz counters, custom cabinetry and pine ceilings give the interior a polished Texas feel without sacrificing its sleek, modern look.
Bane also planned for the noise that comes with hardwood workouts, bouncing basketballs and a booming sound system.
Specialized sound-control materials help protect the living areas from the action taking place next door.
And that’s where the project gets absurd—in the best possible way.
The second half of the building contains an NBA-sized hardwood court marked “Bane Court,” a professional weight room and a fully equipped locker-room setup.
Climate and airflow systems were designed with high-level training in mind, while a massive panoramic door creates a direct connection between the home and gym.
Recovery wasn’t an afterthought, either. The locker-room area includes a cold plunge, stainless-steel sauna and laundry facilities.
There are also bedrooms available for members of Bane’s training staff, allowing offseason work to continue without turning family life into a long-distance arrangement.
The final construction price hasn’t been released. However, builder Josh Helm has previously placed similar projects near $250 per square foot, which would value a 10,000-square-foot build at roughly $2.5 million.
That figure remains an estimate rather than a confirmed cost.
For Bane, the property is about more than squeezing in extra jump shots. He played four seasons at TCU before graduating in 2020 and has continued strengthening his connection to North Texas.
The Horned Frogs retired his No. 1 jersey, and head coach Jamie Dixon later named him the program’s Chief Basketball Officer.
Now Bane has planted another flag near Fort Worth.
