Felix Rosenqvist's new daughter wasn't at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway when her dad won the closest Indianapolis 500 in history, but she didn't miss out on one race tradition.
Meyer Shank Racing shared a photo Monday afternoon of Rosenqvist holding his baby girl, Stella, with both father and daughter wearing the iconic winner's wreath.
Rosenqvist's wife, Emille, gave birth to Stella just three weeks ago, so she didn't make the trip to IMS Sunday. Rosenqvist said before Monday's Victory Celebration that he hasn't been home long enough for the couple to relax and let the historic achievement sink in.
"I can't wait for us to just kind of talk about what just happened," Rosenqvist told 13News reporter Rich Nye.
On Sunday, Rosenqvist pulled alongside leader David Malukas in the front stretch of the final lap and edged past the Team Penske driver at the finish line to win the closest Indianapolis 500 in history with a 0.0233-second margin of victory.
The win earned the Swedish driver and Meyer Shank Racing a record $4.34 million.
