The Fishers Freight versus the Green Bay Blizzard is expected to be the game of the day on Saturday, as both teams enter undefeated. The Freight are coming off an upset victory, beating the reigning Eastern Conference champion Quad City Steamwheelers 45-27 last Saturday. Fishers won despite being outgained by the Steamwheelers, who recorded 167 yards compared to Fishers' 165.
The Freight are led by quarterback Felix Harper, who threw two touchdowns and ran for another in last week’s game. Both of Harper's passing touchdowns went to CJ Windham.
The Blizzard secured a 37-35 victory over the Vegas Knight Hawks after Thompson threw a go-ahead touchdown with 4:25 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Hall of Fame Game to avenge last year's loss to the Hawks in the IFL National Championship.
The Steamwheelers will have the opportunity to avenge last week's loss in Saturday's matchup against the Iowa Barnstormers. Steamwheelers quarterback Daquan Neal threw four touchdowns in the previous game, but two costly interceptions — combined with three first-half touchdowns and a fourth-quarter safety by Fishers defensive back Marcus Gray — all but sealed the game in Fishers’ favor.
The Orlando Pirates will face the New Mexico Chupacabras on Sunday, while the NAZ Wranglers will take on the San Diego Strike Force on Monday. Each of those teams will play its first games of the season.
