In Game 2, the Indiana Pacers came back from down seven points in the final minute to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. In Game 3, they never held a lead, although early in the fourth quarter, they applied some pressure, ultimately falling short 126-104.

Indiana was led by Bennedict Mathurin's 23 points off the bench, and the Cavs enjoyed an eye-popping 43 points from Donovan Mitchell. Tyrese Haiburton was not much of a factor, finishing with four points and five assists

In the fourth quarter, Rick Carlisle opted to sub in James Johnson for the first time all postseason, who quickly recorded a foul. He was brought in to send a message even after the game was lost, aiming to assert some late-game dominance even in the loss.

The Pacers did go on a run to end the third quarter and in the middle of the fourth, but were unable to keep themselves in check. The Pacers were called for ten technical fouls, most of them in the final stretch, and the wheels quickly fell off the bus as those added up.

That's not to say that the game was poorly officiated or one-sided. Sure, Thomas Bryant fell victim to a few questionable calls, but Darius Garland recorded four first-half fouls, his last of which may have been a result of a flop--or embellishment--by Mathurin.

Mitchell took 14 free throws, making ten of them. In the first two games, the teams were able to keep the physicality up, although in Game 3 it seems as if the referees were cracking down on things.

The Pacers will look to defend their home court on Sunday at 8:00 PM, with coverage being moved to TNT.
