Lincoln City hope the work will be completed ahead of next season [Lincoln City FC]

Promotion contenders Lincoln City FC have announced proposed stadium improvements.

The League One high-flyers plan to replace executive boxes with new outdoor seating to increase the capacity of the LNER Stadium, as well as new event and hospitality space.

There would be two big screens in the new "fan village", as well as one inside the stadium.

Jason Futers, chief growth and innovation officer at the club, described the improvements as "a really exciting step forward".

The club said a new community space would be created alongside the club shop and ticket office at Sincil Bank, with seats in the Greenlinc Renewables Stand and the Stacey West Stand being replaced.

The new event space, which would be open throughout the week as well as on matchdays, would hold up to 350 people.

"It's all about fan engagement, but also increases corporate and commercial opportunities for the club," said Futers.

He added that the focus was the matchday experience for fans, but the conferencing and banqueting facilities would take the club's offering to "a whole new level".

If approved, the work is expected to be completed by the start of the 2026/27 season, when the Imps could be in the second tier of English football for the first time in 65 years if they continue their current form.
