Where would you like to see them end up the most? My vote goes to Quebec. Canada deserves all of the franchises they could fit in that country.

I don't want to see them end up anywhere but here.

However if they do move it'll likely be Quebec or Seattle

Back downtown.

Yep. The stupidest thing that franchise did was move to the West Valley and expect people from the East Valley to commute all the way to Westgate for weekday night games.

If they end up being relocated, I personally couldn't care less. I'll just root for the Ducks

Why does AZ even have a hockey team is my question.. Only time I watch them is if they are making a playoff push.. Even then, I have no earthly idea what I am watching.. Tried for years to understand the rules, but its just not clicking with me.. Along with the fact that no one I know even mentions hockey out here in AZ.. Save for a few people every now and then at my job.. But they dont talk much about it because they know we dont understand it and will just start talking about football when they do..

AWA/US Air Center was awful for hockey in 1996 & would still be.. Quebec City is pushing hard & the NHL wants to get out of the ownership deal. East Valley/Scottsdale had their chance the politicos turned the puck over (LOS ARCOS?) thats why they ended up in Glendale. Oh & if the Moyes/Gretzky ownership group would've made the playoffs a couple of times we'd probably be in less of a mess but..... I'm going tonight, hope they beat the crap outta the Sharks!! Doaners back!!!

Yeah, AWA wasn't the best, but with any real estate, location, location, location. Nor was it built for with hockey in mind. All roads lead downtown. The Los Arcos site would have been an absolute nightmare for traffic.

It's one thing to drive to a Cards game once a week or even one or two games in prime time during the season, but it's a whole other story to make the trek 41-50 times or 3-4 times a week in rush hour. I'd be willing to bet anything that the Suns or Dbacks would have a similar problem if they were in Glendale.

By moving the team out to Glendale they basically shunned the casual fan. Big mistake when most of your revenue comes from ticket sales. When I used to work downtown we'd always try to get to at least one Suns/Dbacks/Yotes game a week.

With any sport that plays multiple times a week convenience is a key ingredient to bringing in fans. The Yotes are in one of the most inconvenient location possible for them to bring fans. No light rail, no multiple access roads/freeways.

Like it or not it's a fact and a sentiment most non-diehard fans share.

Heck, if they were downtown, I'd be tempted to dump my Cards tix for Yotes season tix. Or have both.

The worst thing that ever happened to this franchise was Moyer taking ownership. The second worst thing to happen was Moyer moving them to Glendale.

When my daughter started learning to talk "Cardinal" was her 15th word, but she learned to howl when she saw the Coyote logo even before that :)

Last five home games...
Attendance 13,363 4/2 vs. Columbus
Attendance 15,856 3/31 vs. Anaheim
Attendance 14,446 3/29 vs. San Jose
Attendance 12,585 3/27 vs. St. Louis
Attendance 14,938 3/25 vs. Colorado
Winning isn't hurting attendance.. I believe sellout is 17,000?? If we can just get an owner in here with a winning business plan, who knows??

they were able to consistently draw 15,000 - 16,000 as cellar dwellers

a competant owner and they could easily acheive that again ..... a competant owner and a winning team would either keep them in 15,000-16,000 range (just more revenue from those seats) or in the 16,000-sell out range

I saw a Flyers/Yotes game in 2000 and sat behind the goal where the Yotes goalie was twice. The seats were so bad that any action from right in front of the goal to the back boards was completely obstructed. The only view of the goal was from the bank of TV monitors. Awful, awful place to watch a hockey game.

Neither Seattle nor Quebec have NHL ready arenas, at least not for the 12/13 season, so I'm thinking we get them for one or two more seasons..

Just a matter of if the NHL is willing to keep propping them up that long.

But hey, a long PO run might push an owner along here and could build some great momentum going forward.

Quebec will have an NHL-ready arena in the near future, and more complete plans have just emerged for a 20,000 seat arena in Markham (Toronto area).

http://sports.nationalpost.com/2012/04/30/markham-arena-could-be-an-nhl-bargaining-tool/

None of this means the Coyotes are moving to either place. And I wouldn't be surprised if the Markham arena simply existed as a bogeyman the way that KC and Houston's arenas have.

In any case, I am pumped for the Coyotes fans right now. They've put up with a lot. Go Coyotes!
