Fitz is scheduled to be paid a little over $16M in salary and bonuses in 2015. That's the value that he'd like to receive from the Cards in some form or other.

I think that the Cards would be happy if he'd play for $12M in salary and bonuses in 2015. Is that competitive with what he might get elsewhere? I think so, but I can't say for sure.

The other thing is that people need to understand that the Cards are going to have to release Larry Fitzgerald at some point in the next three seasons. He's scheduled to make more than $40M in salaries from 2016 to 2018. Do you really think that he's going to be willing to give back that money, too?

You mean Jerheme Urban. His first year as a Cardinal this was his stat line:

REC 22 YDS 329 AVG 15.0 TDS 2

Jaron Brown's stat line this year:

REC 22 YDS 229 AVG 10.4 TDS 2

And yet anyone who watched team realize Brown is significantly better.

When Brown cuts back on his drops, then you can maybe throw out the word "better". Besides, they were asked to do very different things so comparing the two is flawed from the beginning.

Better hands, more speed, better blocker and he's flat out better regardless of role. People are making way too much out of that drop in Seattle.

Better "blocker"? Come on man, it's not Brown being called to chip DEs or crack back on them on running plays.

Jaron Brown's drop in Seattle was borderline unforgivable but you could say his hands are very good for the most part...

Regarding those salaries from 2016-2018... Don't you think Fitz knows he's not ever gonna see that money from the Cards, or any other team? I think so. Therefore, for all intents and purposes, Fitz has already "given back" that money...
