......can find it in their hearts to not keep up this incessant negativity after we draft the guy. If I have to sit here and read "he's too small, he's too slow, he sucks, he only got 24 sacks because everyone he played against sucked, etcetcetc" for the next 4 months till the season starts, that's going to get old real, real fast.

I will not shed one single tear if we don't draft Terrell Suggs. He is my favorite player in this draft and fills our biggest need, but any number of other players could help this team just as much.

There is some pretty good insider info circulating to the effect that Suggs is our guy. If/when we take him, please, go for a short walk, swear a little, and then get over it.

Think Jake Plummer Part 2 regarding the posts (which I vow to stay out of with one condition: I will admit if I am wrong). Every thread will degenerate into a Suggs is my hero/Suggs is the scum of the earth argument...even though the thread started as McCown throws for 4 TDS!!!

I'm talking about the talk after the draft. If he blows during the season, fire away. I just don't particularly look forward to 3 or 4 months of "we made the wrong draft pick!" over the spring and summer.

Once again, that will NOT happen. Certainly not for YEARS like it did with Jake. Suggs will NEVER, EVER be close to how popular Plummer was here.

I was thinking the same thing.

Jake Suggs. Terrell Plummer.

If we draft Suggs I'll be right there rooting for him to become the next Richard Dent. I just think there might be players that are safer choices.

Heck, I like Suggs. I'll even root for him to become the next Richard Dent if Chicago takes him.

I want us to take Lefty over him, but if we draft Suggs, I'll officially be on his bandwagon. I won't be disappointed if we take him. I wasn't posting at the time (internet access not good and didn't know of any sites to post at) but I was screaming for us to take Alexander and screaming that Jones was no good. To be fair, I didn't want to touch Urlacher with a 10 foot pole, but Alexander was my man that year. Oh well.

We must like the same backs then Stout, because I thought that Alexander was much better. One fact that I always factor in when looking at runningbacks, is where they played and what conference.

Jones was at Va, an ACC school, while Alexander was at Ala, an SEC school. IMO, I always will take the SEC back first.

That's how I feel about Suggs. I think Suggs will be a good NFL player, but I feel if you draft that high, you want to be more certain you'll get a player who can play every down, and not just be a third down specialist which Suggs might become according to some scouts. Suggs could prove me wrong. I've been wrong lots of times. Ryan Leaf proved how little I know. I thought he was going to be better than Manning. Watching Leaf in college I really thought he had the strong arm and the great leadership and competitive nature to lead a team. I was way off on that, so I could be way off on Suggs too. It just makes for interesting debate. I still remember the Eagle's fans booing the Donovan McNabb pick when he was selected. That shows how little us football fans know. ;)

Well, the Eagles fans might have booed that selection, but I knew it was a slam dunk. I think that was the defining moment where I realized the Eagles fans care about there team, but they aren't the brightest bunch.

I'm the same as Stout - I want Leftwich, but I'm not anti-Suggs in any way. If we draft him - I'll be the first to say, get him signed and into camp now!

I'm not anti -Suggs either.I'm just very, very pro-Leftwich.You won't hear me complain about taking Suggs. But you'll probably hear me lamenting the fact that we passed on Leftwich. That's why i kind of hope he's gone if we aren't going to take him.

As someone who has attended the draft before, let me assure you that every single Eagle fan there really is legally drunk by 7 AM. They're not just naturally that obnoxious.

It's mostly drunken Eagle fans, drunker Jets fans, a group of violent Giants fans, and a small but disproportionately annoying group of Redskins fans in drag.

Can't recall much of a cowboy presence. It's primarily an east-coast thing.

Likewise for the Suggs supporters.

That was implied. If we don't draft Terrell Suggs, I will completely cease to care about him.
