Arizona, Miami, Southern California and New Orleans are all in the mix as a part of the rotation due to their mild winter climates and local ammenities.

Miami has fallen out of contention primarily due to their aging facility. The voters their voted down renovating the stadium so Miami isn't expected to get another one without those renovations occurring. Dallas and Houston are going to be added into the mix and I expect the Bay area to get a couple over the next several years. Phoenix's biggest competition will be from Los Angeles if they get a team and San Diego if they renovate the stadium. Even then the Phoenix area should get one ever 8-10 years or so.

I think the production and events for this Super Bowl ,at least from how things appeared from the outside and what little I was involved in, were the biggest and best they have ever been. I think having the Pro Bowl and the WM Open the same week was key to that success.

For a week, Arizona was sports Mecca.

Pro Bowl.
WM Open
ESPN broadcasting live from Scottsdale all week
Super Bowl central downtown
concerts on the west side every night before the super bowl
concerts at US Airways Center
Suns played a game or two at home
Parties and events all over town

And finally, the GAME. An instant classic. And FINALLY a halftime show worth watching from front to back, despite the fact that I don't like any of the artists who performed.

On halftime: the audio in the stadium is terrible and always has been. That's the first time i've noticed it carry onto the TV though. every beat was echoing and sounded as bad as it does inside the stadium.

I don't think there is any question that Phoenix will get the Super Bowl again, it's only a matter of when. I just hope the NFL isn't being serious about the team having to play in London for it to be under consideration.

didn't they adopt a new rule this year that if you are picked you have to play a home game in London the following year?

I'm still not sure how Levis is going to host it. I live a few blocks away, there really doesn't seem to be enough here to have a Super Bowl with all the hype it draws.

Close enough to airport yes, lots of big hotels around, but where the stadium is, it's mostly surrounded by large office buildings.

I have heard they will have events not in Santa Clara but closer to SF as well as local, they're almost going to have to.

Didn't stop Dallas either with the game being played in Arlington & all the events 20 mins away in downtown. I bet a lot of the new stadiums have those same issues now Russ.

San Francisco, the city, will be the real spot light. The game here was played in Glendale but downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale is where all the real action took place. I'm sure the big bucks in Silicon Valley will also be hosting some of the parties and activities. The Bay Area will really put on a hell of a show!! They have the money for sure.

That rain drenched super bowl was a bust. If you don't have the ability to close the lid I don't think you should have a place in the permanent rotation.
