The Hurricanes added three-star defensive lineman DeMarco Jenkins to their 2027 recruiting class on Sunday.
The Pearland, Texas, native picked Miami over scholarship offers from Texas schools like SMU, TCU and Texas A&M, as well as Auburn, Oklahoma and others.
Jenkins is listed as the No. 51 defensive lineman and No. 439 prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Jenkins, who is listed at 6-3 and 307 pounds, racked up 48 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and seven sacks as a junior last year.
The Hurricanes view Jenkins as a nose tackle who has heavy hands and natural strength, a UM source said. The Hurricanes also like his work ethic.
Jenkins is the third interior defensive lineman in Miami’s 2027 class, joining four-star prospect Ezekiel Ayangbile and three-star prospect Josh Johnson.
