Hundreds of racers compete at Akron BMX Stars & Stripes Nationals

Akron BMX welcomed more than 500 racers from across the United States and Canada during the three-day Stars & Stripes Nationals July 3-5 at Derby Downs Drive in Akron.

The event, which also is one of the 10 stops on the USA BMX professional circuit, saw Akron native Brandon Roharik bounce back after a third-place finish in the Masters Pro opener on July 4 by powering his way to victory on the final day.

Roharik is the top-ranked U.S. racer after finishing fifth at the 2025 World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, last August.

Overall, riders competed in more than 100 divisions and 13 riders from the Akron-Canton area joined Roharik at the top of the podium.

• 15 intermediate: Carson Broska, Akron (2)
• 17-20 intermediate: Joey Grose, Uniontown
• 17-20 intermediate: Logan Reese, Massillon
• 6 novice: Ezra Jackson, Canal Fulton (2)

7 novice: Caiden Dunbar, Barberton (2)

8 novice: Weston Evans, Medina (3)

12 novice: Kai Ingram, Medina

12 novice: Brantley Wagner, North Canton (2)

14 novice: Rylan Wagner, North Canton
