Every offseason brings questions. For the Philadelphia Eagles, those questions have once again found their way to Jalen Hurts. Do they want more from him? Of course they do, but that doesn't mean they're dissatisfied. Think about it, Hurts probably wants more from himself. Sure, we can make guesses about his mindset or listen to the theories of others who haven't spent any time with him, but here's an important question. What are those who are around him saying? As days pass and rumors persist that distinction matters more than ever.

During a recent appearance on Mad Dog Sports Radio with Adam Schein, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman offered insight into Hurts' mindset. It paints a very different picture from the one often debated in public. Hurts, according to his GM, is wired for growth.

That typically isn't the profile of a player that NFL teams are looking to move on from. That's the profile of a franchise cornerstone, which brings us to the conversation about expectations vs. dissatisfaction. There's a difference between demanding more and being disappointed. In Philadelphia, expectations are always high. That comes with the territory, but internally, those expectations align with Hurts' own approach. He isn't resisting growth. Based on what Roseman is saying, he's chasing it, and that changes the conversation.

Outside narratives may question performance, consistency, or his ceiling, but the Eagles are focused on something else entirely. They're focused on progression. Perhaps hiring Sean Mannion wasn't to force Hurts out as much as it was to help him to another level.

Hurts has faced scrutiny before. He's responded to it before, and based on Roseman's comments, nothing about that dynamic has changed. If anything, it's reinforced what the organization already believes. Their quarterback is built for this. He's built to handle pressure, built to improve, and built to lead.
