Tennessee Titans wide receiver Xavier Restrepo reached back with one hand near the goal line for an Odell Beckham Jr.-style catch from quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

Later, quarterback Will Levis targeted Restrepo for a one-on-one jump ball in the corner of the end zone on the final play of practice. It was intercepted.

The two plays at Day 2 of mandatory minicamp gave a glimpse into what the Titans have at wide receiver before the team starts training camp in July. It also gave a sneak peak of how different sizes and play styles mesh with new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s offense.

The smaller receivers did the bulk of the big plays on June 17.

Wan’Dale Robinson led the team with eight receptions; Restrepo had five grabs and K.J. Osborn made several key catches.

Titans coach Robert Saleh said the staff values the mix of bigger and smaller targets as it rounds out quarterback Cam Ward’s passing options.

“I feel like there’s a little bit of everything,” Saleh said. “It’s really good with Daboll and his staff, coming from his New England tree. They had a little bit of everything, from the Wes Welker’s to the Randy Moss’.”

The Titans have several receivers competing for roles after drafting Ohio State’s Carnell Tate fourth overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. They signed Robinson from the Giants in free agency, have second-year WRs Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike along with veteran Calvin Ridley, who is recovering from a leg injury.

Osborn and Restrepo fit into the smaller group of receivers, but the coaching staff said it doesn’t use height to differentiate players.

“Our job as coaches is to evaluate what we have skill-set wise and put them in position to do different things,” Titans wide receiver coach Greg Lewis said. “You have your contested-catch type of guys, and then you have the guys that separate, then you have guys that possibly could do both and you just try to find a way to put them in a position to help the offense be successful.”

It also affects which routes Tennessee asks each receiver to run once the play is called.

“You’re not going to put a guy on a contested-catch route if that’s not a strength,” said Titans quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney, who worked with Daboll in Buffalo and New York. “We try to do as good a job as we can of putting our guys in the best position to make those plays and use their strengths.”
