It's not a home game, but Cameron Young and James Nicholas are back inside state lines for the 126th U.S. Open this week at Shinnecock Hills.

Both of them have deep roots in Westchester.

Young is among the favorites and was exempt from qualifying this year via his No. 3 status in the Official World Golf Ranking. Nicholas survived final qualifying at Golf Club of Purchase and Century Country Club ahead of last week's Korn Ferry Tour event in Texas.

There is a third player with a Westchester tie in the field, as well. Brandon Wu was born in California and lived in Scarsdale with his family while attending a prep school in Massachussets.
