The second week of the Tour de France begins with fireworks on Bastille Day as Stage 10 sends the peloton into France’s rugged Massif Central for one of the race’s toughest mountain tests to date.

Tuesday’s 166.6-kilometer route from Aurillac to Le Lioran features more than 3,800 meters of climbing, including the demanding ascents of the Puy Mary-Pas de Peyrol and Col de Pertus before a final climb to the finish. The mountainous profile is expected to spark attacks among the general classification contenders, with race leader Tadej Pogačar looking to extend his advantage while Jonas Vingegaard hopes to regain time on terrain that suits the elite climbers. The stage also returns to Le Lioran, where Vingegaard claimed a memorable victory over Pogačar during the 2024 Tour.

With no opportunity for the sprinters and little flat road to recover, Stage 10 could produce significant movement in the overall standings as the race enters its decisive second week.
