Spain is chasing its sixth straight win over Belgium when the two teams reunite at World Cup 2026 on Friday.

The quarterfinals of World Cup 2026 continue with a single matchup between Spain and Belgium on Friday, when two of the top-10-ranked teams on the planet square off. Neither side has registered a defeat in North America so far this summer, though Spain’s route to Los Angeles Stadium has been a lot more convincing to date.
Following that 0-0 stalemate surprise against Cape Verde, Luis de la Fuente’s side has won four in a row and has yet to concede even one goal at the World Cup. BY contrast, the Red Devils have kept just one clean sheet from five outings thus far and have only won two of those games inside the 90 minutes.

Rudi Garcia’s men appear to be saving their best for last, however, after sending the co-host the United States packing with a 4-1 humbling in the last 16. The controversy surrounding Folarin Balogun’s suspension being lifted counted for little in the end as the likes of Charles De Ketelaere and Romelu Lukaku flexed their attacking muscle.
The bad news for Belgium is that Amadou Onana will play no further part at the World Cup following an ACL injury, meaning Hans Vanaken or Kevin De Bruyne may take his place in midfield.
