For the first time in program history, Penn State will play in the Frozen Four with a spot in the championship game officially on the line. Penn State makes its Frozen Four debut on Thursday night in St. Louis, the site of this year's men's NCAA ice hockey semifinals and championship. Can Penn State battle some of the college hockey world's top programs and return home as a national champion? The first test will be against one of the sport's blueblood programs, Boston University.

Penn State will face Boston University for the first time, and the two programs have very different histories in the sport. As mentioned, this is Penn State's first trip to the Frozen Four, but this is the 25th trip to the Frozen Four for the Terriers. The only schools with more Frozen Four appearances are Michigan (28) and crosstown rival Boston College (26). Boston University has five national titles to their name.

But history is not what will win Thursday night's semifinal matchup in the Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Penn State has already taken out two Hockey East teams with victories over the two teams who played in the conference championship, Maine and UConn. UConn is the team that eliminated Boston University in the Hockey East tournament with a 5-2 victory. Boston blew out Ohio State in the first round of the NCAA tournament and advanced to the Frozen Four with a one-goal victory over Cornell.

Here is how to catch today's game.

What channel is the Penn State-Boston University game? Time, TV schedule
