Pirates ace Paul Skenes
will make his second start at the tournament after shutting down Mexico in group play. Skenes allowed just one hit across four innings and finished with seven strikeouts and one walk against Mexico.

But the Dominican Republic’s lineup will provide a much more difficult challenge for Skenes. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ketel Marte, Julio Rodriguez, Fernando Tatis Jr., Juan Soto — that’s a lot of “Platano Power.”
