Cricket fans gearing up for another summer of Caribbean action can mark their calendars, as the 14th season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) gets underway on August 7.
This year's edition features seven franchises battling for the title, with Jamaica joining the competition through a brand-new team, the Jamaica Kingsmen. They'll open their campaign against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the tournament's very first match on August 7.
A total of 35 group-stage fixtures will be played through to September 13, after which the top two sides in the standings will meet in Qualifier 1. The winner advances straight to the final.
The third and fourth-placed teams will face off in the Eliminator, where the losing side exits the competition, and the winner progresses to Qualifier 2. They will meet the team beaten in Qualifier 1, and the winner will book the last spot in the final.
Every playoff fixture, including the championship decider on September 20, will be staged at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
