Chicago will take a cautious approach to the opener, as coach Ben Johnson confirmed that Caleb Williams and a number of other Bears starters will not play. That puts the focus on the rest of Chicago’s roster, with backup quarterback Tyson Bagent among the players getting an opportunity to make an impression. For the Bears, the afternoon will be less about seeing their established stars and more about evaluating depth and the players competing for spots before the regular season.
