How much could Sixers star Tyrese Maxey make in his next extension?

Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is coming off one helluva season in which he averaged 28.3 points and was named to the All-NBA Third Team. That type of production can trigger certain money thresholds for the future when it comes to negotiating contract extensions to keep him in the City of Brotherly Love for quite some time.

Per ESPN's Bobby Marks, Maxey could be in for a big payday should he be named to an All-NBA Team again in the very near future:

Maxey was named All-NBA in 2026 but was not eligible to sign a supermax extension this offseason with the Philadelphia 76ers because he was one year short of seven years of service. If Maxey is named All-NBA (or MVP or Defensive Player of the Year) this season, he would become eligible to sign a four-year, $301 million extension in the 2027 offseason or a five-year, $389 million extension in 2028. (Maxey would automatically be eligible to sign the five-year extension via All-NBA selections in two out of three seasons.)

Maxey is currently two seasons into a 5-year $204 million deal he signed in the 2024 offseason. He is eligible to be a free agent in 2029, but one has to believe the Sixers will do everything in their power to make sure he is in Philadelphia for a very long time. The money might be a large amount, but when considering the talent and productivity of Maxey, it makes sense as to why they would give him that type of deal.
