Denver Post writer Bill Williamson says we had our starters in until mid 3rd quarter, but from looking at the boxscore it would appear a lot of non starters were in during the 2nd quarter.

Just seems like every preseason game is the same, whoever loses, their writers claim the other team had their starters in much longer. I knew Denver wasn't playing virtually ANY starters (4-5 tops) but did we really leave ours in that long?

I'd have liked to see Josh out earlier, especially after the big hit, but it sounds like he's fine.

No easy answer Russ--

McCown played into the second quarter. But the back up receivers (who are really back ups to back ups) were in the game by the end of the first quarter. It sounded like offensive linemen rotated in there as well.

On defense, same thing happened, but only a little quicker. Some 1st teamers stayed out there into the second quarter, but backups rotated in fairly quickly.

By the start of the second half, it was full back up time.

Agreed...this trashing of the Cards (Starters struggle vs. Broncos)in the media really annoys me. So the Cards were without Quan, BJ, Fitz, Shipp, Hodgins, and Shelton on the offense, and without Dexter Jackson, Kenny King, Duane Starks, The other saftey who's name I can't spell, Ray Thompson left early...we were playing 2nd and 3rd string guys...we just left our strating QB in a while longer..I don't really take much away from this preseason..injuries have really hurt this Cards team...but when the team is up 33-7 in the 4th quarter and 23-0 at halftime it's really hard for me to hear the media rip on the Cards. I thought the Cards were sound on Special Teams and Defense...the Offense moved the ball but couldn't take advantage of the early FP and had to settle for FG's..Josh got knocked around pretty good...I would give an B+ to the D(looked fantastic early and even scored but faded in the end), an A+ to the special teams(great coverage, long FG's made, Blocked a punt) and a C on offense...overall a solid performance...and the Cards continue to improve..let's hope they continue the improvement into St. Louis...

I agree.. we have 2nd stringers that start and so if there is improvement then I am happy. everyone pretty much rotated in and out. Defense did what they were supposed to do.... run through the 2nd and 3rd team oline of the broncos. they did exactly what I would expect.

It should be noted that the broncos blitzed most of the night because he have 2nd string receivers in our lineup. I guarantee teams will continue to do so because they do no respect our passing game. So when he play our "starters" then we will see. I dont take much stock in the fact that mccown was in there most of the half. I saw the broncos bring the house after him.
