Philadelphia had a need for speed and may have solved that riddle after agreeing to a one-year deal with former Chiefs wide receiver 'Hollywood' Brown. Brown serves as an immediate upgrade at the No. 3 receiver spot after Jahan Dotson signed with the Atlanta Falcons, but things could get interesting if A.J. Brown is traded in June. In a bit of irony, Marquise Brown (No. 25 pick) was selected 26 spots ahead of A.J. Brown (No. 51 pick) in the 2019 NFL draft.
The Eagles' signing of Brown adds speed and depth to the WR room and gives new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion an explosive weapon in the slot or on the outside. Here's how the move reshapes the depth chart and what it means for targets and roles moving forward.
Since signing the extension, Smith logged 68 catches for 833 yards and eight touchdowns in the 2024 Super Bowl season and 77 catches for 1,008 yards and four touchdowns in 2025. since that time overall, Smith has 145 catches, for 1,841 yards and 12 touchdowns. The 1,841 yards is 21st in the NFL since that time, and his 145 catches are tied with teammate A.J. Brown for 17th. Brown's 2,082 yards are 14th since that time, and the Eagles duo sits in the top 20 together, along with the Lions duo of Amon-Ra St. Brown-Jameson Williams, and the newly created Cowboys duo of CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, providing some perspective for the experts and pundits who'll question Smith's lack of dominant production.
A former Ravens first-round pick, Brown caught 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns (12.0 avg) last season and still separates from coverage.
Johnny Wilson looked like a player who could unseat Dotson during training camp before suffering a torn ACL. He'll return, while second-year wide receiver Darius Cooper is a player with huge upside. Quez Watkins and Britain Covey are also listed on the Eagles roster ahead of OTAs.
