How Aaron Glenn is using Jets' 2026 schedule reveal as a tool

The New York Jets undoubtedly have one of the more dull 2026 NFL schedules. It's easy to see why.

The Jets have one game slated for a 4:05 p.m. kickoff time next season. That's because the contest is out in Los Angeles against the Chargers in Week 11.

Aside from that, it's all 1:00 p.m. kickoff times for Gang Green in 2026. No evening or prime-time slots for this New York team.

Speaking at OTAs, New York head coach Aaron Glenn put a classic NFL head coach twist on that idea.

No prime-time games? No problem, says Glenn.

Let's earn it, the coach said:

“To me, it’s more of you earn the right. And yes, you can use that as motivation, but you earn the right. That’s the good thing about this league, you earn your right — players, coaches, everybody. You earn your right to get what you get in this league.”

A coach using a narrative as a motivating factor? Unsurprising.

Glenn also has some actual proof in the pudding of this being an attainable goal. The NFL does flex games into prime-time kickoff times later in the season if the league deems the matchup could be improved.

That completely depends up the success a team has. Translation: If the Jets win, they could be flexed into a prime-time game... which is now a goal of Glenn's.
