Hot mics catch Victor Wembanyama directing teammates to 'hard foul' in Game 5

Victor Wembanyama has played well beyond his years throughout the San Antonio Spurs' Western Conference Finals run. One of his most veteran savvy moments came from the bench, however.

Hot mics appear to have caught what led to Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee decking Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jared McCain with hard fouls late in Game 5. It was apparently Wemby himself who ordered it done, as he was seen whispering "hard foul" to the backup bigs before exiting for the night.

While the Spurs lost that one, they played with decidedly more edge in Game 6. San Antonio led wire-to-wire and shut down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in a 118-91 beatdown Thursday night, forcing a Game 7 in OKC.

The Spurs' physicality got the best of Oklahoma City in Game 6. It all started with Wembanyama's apparent message in Game 5. That's chess, not checkers, folks.
