The Charlotte Hornets have made three trades this summer, dealing both LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges while acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith in their last transaction with the Rockets. Besides cash considerations, Charlotte didn't send anything back to Houston to acquire Smith and also received three second-round picks to take on his contract.
However, according to Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer, Finney-Smith isn't expected to suit up for the Hornets. This comes as a surprise considering Charlotte could use a defensive-minded wing, but the Hornets may opt to try out younger players instead. It remains to be seen whether or not Finney-Smith will be waived and stretched or bought out of his current contract.
