Hornets GM Jeff Peterson took some time to speak with the media Saturday afternoon, discussing the future of the franchise after recent trades. Following the departures of both LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, there's only one player on the roster eligible for a contract extension this summer, leading scorer Brandon Miller.

Peterson said there have been discussions between the two sides and that Charlotte wants the former Alabama product "around for a long time." Although Miller's sophomore season was riddled with injury, he's been phenomenal since the Hornets drafted him No. 2 overall in 2023. In 166 contests, Miller is averaging 19 points, 4.6 rebounds, three assists, one steal and 0.6 blocks. Projections for his new contract hover around the $200 million mark over five seasons.
