I wonder how we are doing with ticket sales. I was at the KFFR site and saw this;
Titans | Home Games Sold Out - from www.KFFL.com
Mon, 12 Jul 2004 20:06:39 -0700

TitansOnline.com reports the Tennessee Titans sold-out all eight regular season home games just 19 minutes after making single-game tickets available to the public Saturday, July 10. Only a select number of tickets remain for the team's two preseason games. "It's truly a credit to the great fans we have," said Marty Collins, director of ticket operations. "They continue to support us with great dedication, and for that we are extremely grateful

I guess the Oilers made a better move than the Cards. Can you imagine 72K wearing Red at a Cards game. In 1988 it was almost that. In 1998 the playoff year it was that at the end. But, when will we start feeling like the have finally arrived? Maybe the new stadium. I hope so. It so nice to be rooting your team on with a full stadium rooting just as hard. I live to see this day.

It's

coming gang, it's coming. Long overdue, but, on it's way.
Trust me when I say, we won't be push overs this year and could possibly back our way into the playoffs. Health, one or two breaks at crucial times, getting calls we should get. SDS will rock!
GO CARDS!! GIMME RED!!

It helps when the team wins. If we would've been very competitve for a few years & been to the SB, tix @ SDS would be a hard ticket to get.

The Georgia Dome sold out before the season started in 2002, when the Falcons were coming off a pretty mediocre season, but Vick was going to be the starter.

The skinny
Alltel Stadium is getting a $33 million makeover for the 2005 Super Bowl. Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver is putting $28 million towards the renovation, while the city, which owns the stadium, is funding the remainder. The upgrade includes the addition of 12 luxury suites, 700 club seats and a new sports bar called the Bud Zone. Although the team will keep the bulk of the money from the stadium improvements, don't look for the value of the team to keep pace with the NFL. The small-market Jaguars have seen their attendance slump badly the past few years and Florida has become an extremely competitive sports market during the past decade. Also, the city runs the stadium, giving the team little opportunity to increase revenue outside of football.
Major corporate sponsors are Anheuser-Busch (nyse: BUD), PepsiCo (nyse: PEP), Coggin Automotive, Wachovia (nyse: WB), Baptist Health Systems. Stadium sponsor is Alltel (nyse: AT).

New Jaguars coach meets media, fans for first time

NFL.com wire reports
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Jan. 17, 2003) -- Jack Del Rio's introduction to Jacksonville came at a news conference that seemed more like a pep rally.

With about 2,000 fans cheering him on, the new Jaguars coach promised an aggressive offense and defense, a new and needed era of pro football in Jacksonville.

"We will bring passion back to this stadium," Del Rio promised.

It was passion that was missing as the Tom Coughlin regime came to a close after eight years. Attendance dropped by about 11,000 per game in the three losing seasons that transpired between Jacksonville's last trip to the AFC title game and 2002.

After one especially disheartening loss to Houston this year, Coughlin was spit on by a fan.

Del Rio, who reportedly signed a five-year contract, gave no hints about who he will hire as assistant coaches or the future of quarterback Mark Brunell.

The 39-year-old coach, the second-youngest in the NFL, was greeted to chants of "Del Rio," "Del Rio," "Del Rio!" after he was introduced by Jaguars owner Wayne Weaver. Del Rio sheepishly walked to the stage, holding his wife's hand.

"We are going to be aggressive on defense," he said, adding that on offense, "We are going to attack the defense."

Del Rio, the defense coordinator for the Carolina Panthers last season, said he had no plans to play conservatively as Coughlin did last season with an talent-poor team that couldn't afford to make mistakes.

In a way it worked. Despite a 6-10 record, the Jaguars were blown out of only one game.

But scintillating it was not, and close-to-the vest doesn't fit Del Rio's personality.

"That's not my style," the former NFL linebacker said.

Weaver said he interviewed five candidates for the position -- Dennis Green, Mike Mularkey, Kirk Ferentz, Nick Saban and Del Rio.

"Any one of them could have been a great football coach, but we weren't looking for a great football coach, we were looking for someone special. We were looking for our guy," Weaver said.

In Del Rio's single season as coordinator for the Panthers, he helped them improve from 31st in the league to second on defense. He was largely considered one of the brightest young coaches in football.

Del Rio said he learned the most from coaches Jimmy Johnson in Dallas, Tony Dungy in Tampa Bay and Indianapolis, and Brian Billick in Baltimore.

Players said they are looking forward to playing for a new coach.

"If Jack brings the same intensity to coaching as he did on the playing field, then we're going to win some football games and be successful," Brunell said.

Yeah that is kind of sad. It was like our own private football game though.

Hey I was there!

It will be different when the place fills up. Kids won't be able to wander around the stadium and the opposing players will no longer be able to single out the crazy Cards fan who just made disparaging remarks about the player's mother.

BTW: People keep asking why I have Cardinal tix instead of Texans. I tell them that I can get to SDS from Austin faster than I can get to Reliant, no PSL and that Cardinal fans are a hell of a lot more fun!!!!

The team makes home-field advantage, not the fans. To have a feasome 12th man, you need a decent 11 in place. The good thing is, fans can live off tradition for a long time. The Cards need to build theirs.

Lets take it one game at a time and spread the word to get the 12th man advantage out there in full force and sell out the home opener vs Patriots. I will be flying out from NJ for the game and can't wait to see 55,000 plus fans!

Go Cards/ America!
