Hillsdale Area Best Boys Track: Who are the top five athletes in each event after Easter?

HILLSDALE COUNTY — The Easter weekend marks our first look at the top rankings for Hillsdale Area Best boys track and field athletes. We will look at the top five results for each of the individual events and the top three relay teams.

More: Jonesville track and field competes against the best of the best at the Ralph Rice Invitational

Only one relay team will be displayed for each of those rankings. We will also look at the events in which those results were gathered.

100-Meter​

Junior Brayden Wright tops the rankings in the 100 and 200, both with impressive numbers taking first at the Stockbridge and Reading dual. Cam Arnold and teammate Miles Brown both posted solid numbers at the Hillsdale Academy Gina Relays to take second and fifth respectively.

200-Meter​

Four of the top five 100-meter sprinters populate the 200 rankings. 2-4 are separated by just six-tenths of a second. Arnold and Brown finished second and third respectively at the Gina Relays 200-meter dash.

400-Meter​

Dominick Coke topped the rankings after taking first place at the Gina Relays at Hayden Park. Freshman Logan Stanton cracked the top five after a sixth-place finish at the Ralph Rice Invite.

800-Meter​

Molenkamp shot up to No. 2 in the rankings after winning at the Gina Relays. Two freshmen, Potwin and York, cracked the rankings after Easter week events. York took third at the Gina Relays and Potwin took ninth at the Ralph Rice Invite.

The Academy dominated the early 1600 rankings thanks to big numbers at the first SCAA jamboree of their season. However, a PR run to take first at the Gina Relays put Rorick at the top of the rankings.

3200-Meter​

  5. Collin Fucile - Sophomore - Jonesville - 10:36.36 - Ralph Rice Invite

Four of the top five numbers were all posted this past week. Blonde leads all runners by at least 10 seconds, and that number placed him fifth at the Ralph Rice invite, displaying how tough the competition was at Parma Western.

110 Hurdles​

Scharer set new season best numbers to top the 110 and 300 hurdle rankings with first place runs at the Gina Relays.

300 Hurdles​

Goodwin is in second place in both the 100 and 300 hurdles for different events, but the senior recently posted a PR time in the 300 to take second at the Ralph Rice Invite.

Garcia, Socha and Kurtz all hit their numbers during league jamborees this past week. Socha and Kurtz both won their events. Thornsbury won the Gina Relays.

Packer's result from the Ralph Rice Invite wasn't just a new personal record for the senior, but also the lone win the Comets got at the invitational. Williams' result also won the event at the Dale Shook Invitational.

Each of the top four athletes won their event with their results. Goodwin, Drake and Garcia all hit new personal best jumps.
