With the 124th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Texas cornerback Malik Muhammad. This was their first selection of Day 3, after making four total picks in the first three rounds on Days 1 and 2.

Muhammad made it two defensive backs that the Bears drafted in 2026. They selected safety Dillon Thieneman in the first round. There has been a clear emphasis, right or wrong, on improving in the secondary. Muhammad was somewhat of an example of a player falling in the draft, and the Bears took advantage by scooping him up. He’ll fit in well with the talent they have in the cornerback room.

Muhammad may or may not be a starter at some point in 2026, but the Bears clearly see value in him as a potential roster player in the long term. They’ve had success drafting at this position in the middle rounds of recent drafts, and they’d like this one to turn out the same.
