SOFTBALL


Division I

La Salle 10, Bay View 0


On one of those nights when the Rams had everything working on the mound and at the plate, La Salle would show why they are unbeaten (5-0) by powering their way past Bay View.

The Rams' starting pitcher Hailey Vigneau hurled a no-hitter, going five innings (mercy rule) with 12 strikeouts while walking only 1.

At the dish Kayleigh Ventura had a monster day at the plate, going 3-3 with a homer, triple, double and 4 RBI. Also joining the hit parade were Phoenyx Silva, Lily Roumelis and Elle Kershaw who each had homers.

Pilgrim 7, Ponaganset 3


Genna D'Amato and Skylar Hawes powered the Patriots offense, each driving in two runs. Madison Tuirok collected a hit and three walks, and stole two bases, to help Pilgrim earn the win. In the circle, Gretchen Dombeckstruck out 6, walked a pair and allowed three runs. MaiaSalvo led Ponaganset with three hits in four at bats. Kyla Angell and Salvo each drove in one run for Ponaganset.

North Kingstown 12, Prout 11


The Skippers and Crusaders battled to a 10-10 tie after 7 innings. Prout struck first in the top of the eighth, scoring the go-ahead run, but North Kingstown had the final answer. Freshman AmeliaFries hit a walk off double in the bottom of the 8th to earn the win.

Rosemarie Hayward led NK with 5 RBIs on 3-4 batting, Fries was 2-5 with 3 RBIs and Mia D'Andrea went a perfect 4-4 at the plate, with 2 RBIs. In the circle, Gianna Amedeo threw all 8 innings and struck out 5 in the win.

For Prout, Lucy Kaiser was unstoppable, going 4-5 on the plate with 6 RBIs, including 2 homers. In the circle, she pitched 7.1 innings and struck out 8 in the loss.

Cranston West 10, Westerly 6


Ava Iannelli went 2-4, Mia Baffone was 2-3 and Mia Santomassimo was 3-4 to lead the Falcons (2-0) to the Division win. Mia Crudale struck out 5 over 6 innings to earn the win. For the Bulldogs, Addison Poole led the offense by going 2-4 with 2 RBIs.

Division III

Narragansett 19, Hope 4


Grace Blessing, Payton Abrams and Alexa Poirier all went 4-for-4 and Delaney Bonneau went 3-for-3 as the Mariners romped to the victory. Blessing finished with 3 doubles and a triple and 6 runs batted in, Abrams had 4 singles, 2 RBI and 4 runs scored, Poirier also had 4 singles with 1 RBI and 4 runs scored, and Bonneau had a double and 2 singles, 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Alex Hernandez had a hit and 2 RBI for the Blue Wave.

BOYS LACROSSE


Division II

Prout 7, Middletown 5


Liam McIntosh scored 4 goals and picked up a pair of assists and John Gaffney netted two tallies as the Crusaders won their first game of the season after an opening season loss. Grayson Hawkins and Patrick Cranson each had a pair of goals for the Islanders.

Portsmouth 8, Westerly 5


The Bulldogs' Caleb Williams scored 2 goals, including the 100th of his high school career, but it was not enough as the Patriots prevailed. Tyler Castergini recorded a hat trick, Rafe Dionne and Robert Mairs each had 2 goals and Jack Colna had 17 saves on 22 shots, leading Portsmouth. In addition to Williams' goals, Michael Gervasini also scored twice for Westerly. Alex Jacoinski had the other goal.

Division IV

Rogers 10, North Providence 7


Connor Hole-Young fired in 4 goals, and David Rivera and Jack Mathews each found the back of the net 3 times as the Vikings moved to 4-0 this season with the win. Angel Brito had 2 saves and Jay Northup had 3 saves as they split duties in goal.

GIRLS LACROSSE


Division I

La Salle 15, North Kingstown 9


Maddi Goodwin led all scorers with 8 goals and 1 assist, Lily Peters added 2 goals and 3 assists and Kerrin McGovern had 4 goals and 2 assists in the Rams' win. For the Skippers, Jordan Paris scored 6 goals in the loss. With the victory, La Salle improves to 4-0 on the season.

East Providence 14, Smithfield 2


The Townies offense was clicking on all gears on Tuesday and the Northmen couldn't slow it down. Ella Benson led the way with 5 goals, Alyssa Karalekas was next with 4, Dylan Flynn chipped in with 3 and Kloey Iacouone had 2.

Charlie Pincince was responsible for 16 kills, Dennis Dixon added 10 kills and Caleb Xum picked up 40 assists as they paced the Thunderbolts to a 25-15, 25-22, 31-29 triumph. Zach Gessman had 13 kills, Rainen Paquet chipped in with 20 assists, and Matt Rosemark had 5 blocks for the Avengers.

East Providence 3, Coventry 0


BrandonMimande led the Townies with 11 kills and 12 digs, AntonioVarela added 8 kills and 2 blocks in the win (26-24, 25-19, 25-22). Coventry's CameronMarcotte had 5 kills, and JoeyRiley recorded 4 aces.
