Central Texas high school baseball teams are in the thick of district play. Here’s a look at Tuesday’s action:
District 25-6A
Round Rock 5, Cedar Ridge 1:The Dragons completed the series sweep as Josh Horvath struck out 10 and scattered four hits in five innings and Weston Ondreyka and Drew Harthcock combined for two innings of scoreless relief. Cade Goddard singled and eventually stole home, Luke Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly and Baker Jackson ripped an RBI single to lead the Round Rock offense.
Vista Ridge 2, Vandegrift 0: Drew Wells allowed only one hit and struck out eight in five innings and helped himself at the plate by going 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and an RBI as the Rangers picked up a key win for their playoff hopes. Blake Grimmer finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and both Andrew Klemett and Nolan Riviere struck out three in an inning of scoreless relief in other notable performances for Vista Ridge. Karston Coffey fanned eight and scattered three hits in five innings of shutout relief for the Vipers.
McNeil 4, Stony Point 3: Eduardo Gomez-Horton hit a two-run single in the top of the seventh and Justin Sandusky tossed a scoreless bottom half of the inning to spur the Mavericks to the win. Sandusky also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Gomez-Horton also tossed 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Hudson Pumphrey drove in two runs and Bryce Bryant finished with two hits to lead the Tigers.
Westwood 14, Manor 0 (5): Nate Taparauskas, Killian Boyce-Beene and Sterling Woodley combined for 10 strikeouts and a no-hitter and Juan Perez went 2-for-2 with a walk, triple and three RBIs to pace the Warriors. Will Baker finished 3-for-3 with two runs scored, West Morgan drove in three runs and RC Cowes, Antonio Martinez and Lennon Court all tallied two hits in other notable performances for Westwood.
District 26-6A
Bowie 6, Dripping Springs 1: Liam Bruner tossed a complete game, scattering seven hits and striking out six, and Leo Pena went 1-for-3 with a double, sacrifice bunt and four RBIs to lead the Bulldogs. Aaden Romero ripped an RBI double and Andrew Winters had a run-scoring single to help Bowie take the first game of the series.
Westlake 12, Austin High 3: Mateo Rincon, Isaac Stock and August Collard hit two-run singles, Ripken Street went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Kyle Covert had a run-scoring hit to lead the Chaps. Parker Saltsman threw four innings of scoreless relief to earn the win. Patrick Byrd went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to pace the Maroons.
Lake Travis 16, Del Valle 0 (5): Luke McBride went 2-for-3 with a triple, double, walk and three RBIs, Ethan Schlotterback finished 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBIs and Brady Skutta had a triple and drove in two runs to pace the Cavs. Cooper Webb fanned seven in three innings and Cruz Hale struck out four in two innings as they combined for a shutout. Elliott Proppe had a double and two RBIs and CJ Hansford belted a triple in other notable offense for Lake Travis.
District 23-5A
Weiss 4, Hendrickson 3: Rhema Benjamin threw a complete game with 11 strikeouts, Jace Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Amari Maxwell finished 2-for-2 with a walk and RBI as the Wolves claimed an important district win. Patrick Brock doubled and eventually scored and Jordan Benjamin went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs in other notable performances for Weiss. AJ Fowler drove in three runs and Rhett Peterson went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to lead the Hawks.
East View 6, Pflugerville 0: Dillon Bennett scattered three hits in 5 1/3 innings, Trey Rodriguez hit an RBI double and Andres Uzcategui belted a run-scoring single to lead the Patriots.
Georgetown 13, Elgin 2: Braden Rogers went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored, Connor Young finished 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, Colton Green went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs, Gavin Kelley finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Jack Kieke struck out six in four innings of work as the Eagles rolled to a five-inning win.
District 24-5A
Anderson 18, Cedar Creek 0 (5): Vinny Franco struck out 10 in a no-hit shutout to lead the Trojans, who moved to 5-0 in district play. Darek Paiz went 3-for-3 with a walk, two home runs and four RBIs, Connor Comeau belted two doubles and drove in four runs, Bennett Wright went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, Kevin Ortega ripped a two-run double and James Cole finished with two hits to pace the Anderson offense. Connor Smith blasted a run-scoring double and Hank Rippy went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored in other notable performances for the Trojans.
McCallum 15, Crockett 0 (5): Max Satterwhite tossed a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts, Blaise Kizer went 2-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored, Robert Grona finished 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Lincoln Baugher drove in two runs and Jake Gramling went 2-for-2 with a walk, double and two runs scored as the Knights rolled. Satterwhite helped himself at the plate going 1-for-3 with two walks and an RBI, Mason White finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and Rowland Hennard went 1-for-3 with a walk, RBI and two runs scored in other noteworthy showings for McCallum.
Bastrop 7, Navarro 0: Cooper Voight, Mason Smith and Jackson Phillips combined for a two-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts, Kody Wright went 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Alejandro Ramirez smacked an RBI double to lead the Bears. Jacob Murray and Frankie Andrada both recorded two hits for Bastrop, which moved to 3-0 in district play.
District 25-5A
Rouse 4, Hays 1: Jacob Sainz struck out six, scattered five hits and allowed only one earned run in six innings, Colby Driskell had an RBI single and Adolfo Erives produced an RBI to lead the Raiders to the win. Rouse is tied atop the district standings at 4-1 with Liberty Hill.
Liberty Hill 9, Lockhart 0: Jordan Andrews threw a two-hit shutout with an eye-popping 15 strikeouts and went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, Journey Lowery finished 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored and Greyson McVan went 2-for-2 with a walk, RBI and two runs scored as the Panthers won in blowout fashion. Koby Neuenschwander and Jaxson Richter tripled in other notable performances for Liberty Hill. The Panthers are tied with Rouse for first place in the district at 4-1.
Leander 12, Cedar Park 1 (5): Logan White tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts, Max Smedley went 3-for-3 with a walk, two triples and two RBIs and Kipton Field finished 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored as the Lions took a key district win. Jackson Trimble doubled and drove in three runs, Brody Martin went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and two RBIs and Jax Ruen doubled in other notable performances for Leander.
Lehman 7, Glenn 3: Gadiel Flores struck out 11 in five shutout innings, Israel Sanchez went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Jake Kokernot drove in three runs to pace the Lobos.
District 25-4A
Legacy Ranch 24, Austin Achieve 1: Blake DeShazo fanned eight in three shutout innings, Canon Fitts went 2-for-2 with a triple, double, four RBIs and four runs scored and Brady Kaspar, JJ Herzog and Landon Dyer all finished with two hits to lead the Wranglers.
