Was listening to this podcast on the biggest surprise units of the upcoming season.

They include the Cardinals D about 50 min in and states that it shouldn't be on the list as the D finished 16th in EPA per play and 14th in DVOA and is projected to be top 10 in DVOA for the coming season. So not a surprise It's just the defense they are looking the most forward to watching, so they are including it.

This is the biggest getting something out of nothing unit they had seen since Flores' first year. They are intrigued about what this unit can become with more talent.

Discussion on:
- the insane amount of the talent added on the front 7 including DR and BJ coming back from injury
- how Rallis has utilized Zaven and making it work with an average player
- talk about the 3 S formation and how the Cardinals are the best at it due to Budda.
- how it was an all or nothing defense. Big plays - positive and negative
- Young players will be okay, but losing Thomas as critical depth hurts.

Huge praise to Rallis to being perhaps the most true team in terms of adjusting the scheme to fit the players. Huge praise on Gannon to be comfortable and humble enough to let Rallis do that, because Gannon was actually VERY conservative as DC. They speculate that the craziness in scheme will be toned down with the better players and more long downs for opponents, which enables the secondary to play conservative and let this improved front do their thing. Very excited to see how this unit performs

I have been wanting a good DL for so long now, this season is gonna be fun watching this defense. It's going to be interesting seeing how creative NR can get with as much talent as this defense has.
