After a pretty decent off-season, including the addition of some players that will help the team, especially someone who will draw fans to the games like Emmitt Smith, I was shocked that the Cards passed on a Suggs or even a Leftwich.

Well, better said, I wasn't shocked that they traded down, just that they got so badly hosed in doing so.

I will never understand the need to swap 2nd rounders and throw in a 4th rounder in order to move down from 6th overall to 17th and 18th overall. It is mind-blowing. The team with the higher pick has all the leverage.

It should have gone down the opposite way, with a team like New Orleans offering more for the deal.

I feel the Cards shot themselves in the foot. They did a bad deal and cannot spin it away.

Fans are going to be saying "We got these two guys instead of a stud like Suggs?"

(Especially when some drafts had us taking the same WR with the 37th anyway...)

Imagine the marketing possibilities they have also lost out on with the passing on Suggs. We already have the All-Time NFL leading rusher to draw fans, and we could have gotten Suggs too? A hometown star and one of college football's best when it comes to QB pressure and sacks? Imagine the casual fans that would have been drawn to the games that instead will find something else to do on Sundays...

3 words.

What a joke!
