Here is a great Kurt Warner story I tell all the time (Training Camp 2001-Rams)

Back in the day the St. Louis Rams had training camp at Western Illinois University, about 40 minutes from my home. In 2001, a buddy of mine who like me grew up a St. Louis Football Cardinals fan and were still diehard AZ Cardinal fans, but also supported the Rams because they were in St.Louis, attended Rams camp in 2001. We decided to keep track of how many completions vs incompletions Warner had at the practice. In total Warner threw 78 passes and not one hit the ground!! It was amazing. I still brag about being there to witness literally a perfect practice.

Now this story is kind of like the fish you caught and every 10 years it’s way bigger than the one you actually caught. Yes, Warner had a practice where the ball never touched the ground, but we were also counting warm ups and passes to receivers that were uncontested. Oh well, it’s just a couple of old friends who keep this memory alive every time we run into each other. I saw my old friend today after many years and sure enough that Warner story was the thing that kicked off the conversation!!

Back in the early 90's when I was working at the Grand Canyon, the Cardinals were having a joint practice with the Raiders in the Sky Dome. I got some free tickets and went to see them and they ended up getting into a giant brawl. One of the Raiders ended up smashing his helmet on a Cardinals players head and it ended the scrimmage real quick. I have never seen a helmet shatter like that before. Anyone else go to that scrimmage?
