The top four players drafted off the 2026 Texas Tech baseball team and two high-school recruits who also were selected have now signed pro contracts, a Tech athletics spokesman said.
Tech left fielder Logan Hughes signed with the Houston Astros, who chose him in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft; designated hitter Caden Ferraro signed with the St. Louis Cardinals, who took him in the third round; center fielder Kyeler Thompson signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who selected him in the ninth round; and catcher Matt Quintanar signed with the Philadelphia Phillies, who drafted him in the 16th round.

A Tech spokesman confirmed late Thursday, July 23, that Thompson had signed, and Quintanar announced on social media that he had signed.
MLB Pipeline reported Friday that Hughes's signing bonus was $3,411,409, below the assigned slot value of $4,868,600 for the 17th overall pick. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Ferraro's signing bonus was $800,000, below the assigned slot value of $943,600 for the 86th overall pick.
Terms of the Dodgers' agreement with Thompson and the Phillies' deal with Quintanar were not immediately known.
The Tech high-school signees who turned pro are El Paso Americas infielder Drew Gonzalez, who was a sixth-round pick by the New York Yankees, and Queen Creek (Ariz.) Casteel infielder Ryne Barker, who was an 11th-round choice by the Atlanta Braves.
Players who were selected in the draft, which was conducted July 11-12, have until July 27 to decide whether to sign. Former Tech third baseman-right fielder Connor Shouse, drafted in the 20th round by the Seattle Mariners, is expected to stay in college.
Shouse has left Texas Tech for South Carolina via the NCAA transfer portal. He hit .353 with 10 home runs and 66 RBIs this season.
In other news, Tech announced the Red Raiders will join Alabama, Louisiana Tech and Texas State in next year's Round Rock Classic. The event is scheduled for Feb. 27-28 at Dell Diamond. The tournament schedule, travel packages and broadcast information will be announced later.
