Team USA is scheduled to play all three of its FIFA World Cup group stage games on the West Coast.
After that, there are three chances of seeing the American national soccer team in the area: in New Jersey, during the final game on July 19, or round of 32 match on June 30, and in Philadelphia on the 4th of July.
Here's how it would work:
USA is in Group D. If the team ends up third during the group stage and enters the round of 32, they could be scheduled to play in New Jersey on Tuesday, June 30. But, that would require USA to end up third in the group stage, which is unlikely based on current rankings.
Typically, ending third would eliminate a team after the group stage. But, the 2026 Men's World Cup includes 48 teams, the most it has ever had, so, eight third-place teams from the group stage will advance to the round of 32.
If Team USA makes it through to the final, they would play in New Jersey on July 19.
Then, on July 4, the winners of the 74th and 77th matches will face each other in Philadelphia. While it has not yet been determined which teams will be playing in the 74th and 77th matches, the FIFA schedule announced that it will be the first-place winners of Group E and Group I, respectively, against the third-place teams of Groups A, B, C, D, F, G, or H.
If the U.S. ends up third during the group stage and plays and wins either the 74th or 77th match, then USA will play in Philly on Independence Day at 5 p.m.
