Here's the full Olympic skeleton schedule for 2026 Winter Games

One of the more interesting and more dangerous Olympic events is skeleton.

Skeleton involves an athlete sliding down an ice track in a sled. Sounds simple ... except that the athletes go headfirst down the track, face down, and it is a single-person event, unlike other ice track events such as luge or bobsled.

Skeleton was an Olympic event only twice in the 20th century: at the 1928 and 1948 Winter Olympics, both in St. Moritz, Switzerland, before it was discontinued as an Olympic sport. It returned for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics.

There will be three events in skeleton: men's, women's, and a team competition.

The skeleton competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics takes place at the Cortina Sliding Centre in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
