Jan. 11—Spencer Wayland scored 17 points as the Missoula Hellgate boys jumped ahead of Flathead early and took a 55-40 victory Saturday at Flathead High School
Meanwhile, Elly Reed scored 14 points and the Knights girls held off Flathead 59-52 in Missoula.
Hellgate boys 55, Flathead 40
Zane Gillhouse added 14 points for the Knights, who took a 31-15 lead into the half.
Evan Pyron tallied eight for the Knights (5-1 overall, 2-0 in Western AA games).
Ben Reichner led all scorers with 19 points for Flathead, hitting eight shots from the field.
Flathead outscored the Knights 15-7 in the final frame.

Brynn Kossman led all scorers with 18 points for the Bravettes (0-6, 0-2 in conference), including an 8 of 11 performance at the foul line. Grace Gall tallied 14 and Reese Rosenberg had nine.
