Former NFL running back Mark Ingram II is bringing a youth track and field meet to Boca Raton.

Ingram, the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Hall of Famer, announced via his personal Instagram on March 11 that his foundation will host the first annual Mark Ingram II Classic on March 21 at West Boca Raton High School.

The youth track and field meet will be open for ages 5-18. Field events will begin at 8:30 a.m. while track events begin at 9 a.m. according to the meet's press release. Entry fees include $25 per athlete, $10 per spectator and $3 parking.

Participating track clubs include Boynton Beach's Running Fire Track Club and seven more teams from South Florida communities like Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Okeechobee and Clewiston. The meet will be hosted with support from the Southeastern Track & Field League of Florida.

Ingram, a 36-year-old New Jersey native, enjoyed a 12-year NFL career as a running back, rushing for 8,111 yards and 65 touchdowns. He began "The Mark Ingram Foundation" during his rookie season with the New Orleans Saints.
