The Boston Celtics will still be coming to terms with the fact that Jayson Tatum will be out of the rotation for the foreseeable future. The All-NBA forward suffered a torn Achilles tendon due to a non-contact injury on May 12. Tatum has already undergone surgery and is staring at a long road to recovery.

During a recent episode of the "Hold My Banner" show from NESN, George Balekji and Adam Pellerin dove into the impact Tatum's injury could have on the Celtics. The duo came to the conclusion that the current Celtics' era could be coming to a close, and therefore, a new one could be on the horizon.

When factoring in how expensive the current version of Boston's roster projects to become, Balekji and Pellerin conclude, like most of us, that this summer could see a string of changes. Brad Stevens will likely look to re-tool the roster while potentially ducking under the second luxury tax apron. After all, without Tatum, the Celtics are unlikely to be a contending team next season. As such, Boston could become one of the more active teams in the trade market.
