Real American Freestyle is at it again with another interesting fight between familiar names from the mixed martial arts world.

According to a press release from the promotion, former welterweight contender and snubbed White House hopeful Colby Covington will wrestle former BJJ ace and perpetual hater Dillon Danis at RAF07, set to go down at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida on March 28th.

Covington vs. Danis will serve as the co-main to a rematch between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas. Their first fight at the end of February included a whole lot of quasi-legal roughing up from Poullas. Tsarukyan would win the match 5-3 on points and then get his revenge by punching Poullas, kicking off a big brawl.

Now RAF is flirting with two fighters known for igniting brawls on one night. It feels like Dillon Danis gets brawled up more than he legitimately competes. He got jumped by Islam Makhachev’s team in the stands at UFC 322, and started a brawl with Luke Rockhold backstage at Misfits Boxing 22. A press conference between Danis and KSI ended with, get this, a brawl! And his boxing match with Logan Paul in 2023 ended via DQ for unsportsmanlike conduct … and quickly broke out into a brawl.

The only thing Danis does more than get into brawls is pull out of fights. Danis has five fight cancellations on his record over the past several years. Most recently, he bailed on an MMA match against Anthony Taylor at Misfits Mania after doctors declared him unfit to compete on account of a concussion he suffered during the UFC 322 brawl.

Will Danis actually make it onto the mat to compete against Covington at RAF07 on March 28th? Can he manage to navigate one social outing without a sea of people immediately jumping him and beating him up for being a punk online? Whatever happens, we’re sure it’ll be interesting.
