Tommy Fleetwood has been a staple on leaderboards at majors for a number of years, but near-misses have become all too common for the English-born golfer.

2025 marked the first time in four years that Fleetwood didn't finish top-10 in any of the four majors, meaning he couldn't come particularly close to breaking through and securing a win.

As he continues to play impressive golf, however, Fleetwood is hoping his best days in majors are still ahead.

Has Tommy Fleetwood won a major?

Fleetwood does not have a major championship in his career. He has had runner-up finishes in both the U.S. Open and Open Championship and seven top-five finishes in majors overall, but that breakthrough still eludes him.

Fleetwood has earned a top-five finish in each major at one time or another, including his two runner-up finishes and a third-place Masters finish in 2024.

Rory McIlroy's win at the Masters in 2025 served as proof that coming up short time and time again doesn't mean a win won't ever come, and Fleetwood now finds himself chasing McIlroy as he pursues his first major title.

Has Tommy Fleetwood won on a PGA Tour event?

Fleetwood won his first PGA Tour event in 2025, winning the Tour Championship in August by three strokes. Fleetwood (-18) beat out Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley by three strokes.

In addition to his PGA Tour win, Fleetwood has eight wins on the European tour.

2018 U.S. Open

Fleetwood got hot a bit too late at the 2018 U.S. Open, shooting only the sixth round of 63 in the final round to finish second, but a 78 in the third round a day earlier doomed his chances of a historic comeback to win. Fleetwood finished one stroke behind winner Brooks Koepka, entering the clubhouse at 2-over par despite being 9-over par through three rounds.

2019 Open Championship

Fleetwood was only one stroke off the lead through two rounds at the 2019 Open Championship, but he and the rest of the pack slipped further behind leader Shane Lowry on day three and couldn't make a charge in the final round, finishing second at 9-under par but closing the tournament six strokes behind Lowry.

Since 2019, Fleetwood has not yet managed another top-two finish.
