“NFL’s investigation concluded Hardy violated the Personal Conduct Policy by using physical force vs Nicole Holder in at least 4 instances.”

From NFL communications:

Greg Hardy Suspended Without Pay For 10 Games

Greg Hardy of the Dallas Cowboys was notified today that he is suspended without pay for the team’s first 10 games of the 2015 regular season for conduct detrimental to the league in violation of the NFL Constitution and By-Laws, the NFL Player Contract, and the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
In a letter from Commissioner Roger Goodell, Hardy was informed that an extensive two-month NFL investigation following the dismissal of his case in North Carolina state court determined that there was sufficient credible evidence that Hardy engaged in conduct that violated NFL policies in multiple respects and with aggravating circumstances.

Greg Hardy suspension does not impact his standing w/ #Cowboys. They were braced for this. He'll only be paid for games he plays in Dallas.

So, how does this relate to the D Wash situation? Is he in the same boat or was Hardy's case more involved?

There were at least four instances of violence in Hardy's case; one in Washington's.

The #Cowboys expected at most a 6-game suspension for Greg Hardy. Thought it would be 4 games. 10 is clearly a surprise.

Doesn't hurt their CAP but does diminish the talent on D for at least 10 games.

I don't see this holding up on appeal. 4-6 games when it's all said and done.

Yep. Look I hate Dallas as much as the next guy, but this is ridiculous and flies in the face of the court decision they JUST dealt with in the Rice case.

It's likely NOT going to be 10 games. It seems the NFL has gone crazy.

They basically are saying on ESPN that because of OPTICS, they needed to throw the book at him so they would LOOK GOOD...and that's GREAT (them not me).

Then they said they expect it to be appealed and have it go down.

So basically the NFL is engaging in nothing but PR, ESPN says it's ok, and it's up to someone else to correctly set judgement.

In other words a bunch of morons making way too much just did the wrong thing for the wrong reasons but hope they got it right in the eyes of the public because that's what matters to them.

This will get reduced to 6 games or less after appeal, there's not a doubt.

The NFL could be compromising their position by shooting for the moon and showing drastic inconsistencies in these punishments. The NFLPA is going to have a field day with this one.

He did more than break a collarbone?

Yup, read the original court report. Beat her FOUR times and one time threw her into a pile of assult rifles, which could have killed her. Strangled her and abused her and continued to threaten her after the fact. I would say that is much worse than what Washington did considering Washington knocked his childs mother down and broke her collorbone while she was running at him and trying to hit him.

And the best part, Washington was contrite about it and owned up to it. Hardy is still not accepting blame.

yep. Let us compare:

Washington had a single altercation with a baby momma while picking up his child where he allegedly pushed the woman off of him and she broke her collarbone when she fell to the ground.

Hardy on the other hand had this:

Hardy, Holder said, flung her from the bed, threw her into a bathtub, then tossed her on a futon covered with rifles. Holder said Hardy ripped a necklace he had given her off her neck, threw it into a toilet and slammed the lid on her arm when she tried to fish it out.

The 6-foot-4, 265-pound Hardy dragged her by the hair room to room, she said, before putting his hands around her throat.

“He looked me in my eyes and he told me he was going to kill me,” said Holder, 24, who said she used to live with Hardy.

“I was so scared I wanted to die. When he loosened his grip slightly, I said, ‘Just do it. Kill me.’ ”

Later, as Holder said she was held by her former boyfriend’s personal assistant, she said Hardy made the 911 call, showed her the phone, and said, “Run, little girl. You’re going to jail.”

I would say Hardy's offense is FAR worse.

I heard they are saying that they are taking into account all 4 instances of abuse as seperate cases as well as the testimony about the assult weapons he owns and added it all up to 10 games. This one could stick and get reduced just a few games. A lot different than Ray Rice and AP.

Yup and this is not the first time it has been pointed out.
