For the first time in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks will be featured on HBO's iconic Hard Knocks program. This will be the first time since Hard Knocks' inaugural season of 2001 where a reigning Super Bowl champion will be the focus of the season.
Now, we get our first glimpse of what the Seahawks are going to look like under the lights of prime time (television). On Tuesday morning, HBO released the first trailer for Seattle's season of Hard Knocks, as well as the date of the first episode. Mark your calendars, 12's, as the Seahawks' first time on Hard Knocks will debut on Tuesday, August 4th at 9:00 pm Eastern Time. Of course, that means 6:00 pm in our wonderful Pacific time zone.

Traditionally, the Seahawks have been resistant to appearing on Hard Knocks. In fact, general manager John Schneider even outright told HBO "no" back in 2013. Schneider has historically felt that Hard Knocks would be a distraction, and doesn't want eyes on what his team is doing. Well, it does appear their luck has officially run out in this department.
While Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald may not be thrilled at the idea of being on TV in this capacity, I'm sure the 12th Man is quite excited. It's been a long spring and summer without Seahawks football, and any glimpse at the reigning champs will be more than enough to satiate the football-hungry fans of the Pacific Northwest.
At least for now.
