Scorecard

Tier One side Hampshire Hawks ended Glamorgan's run in the T20 County Cup with a crushing victory by 97 runs in Newport.

It was a sharp reminder from the professional outfit of the huge difference between the top two tiers in the women's county game, with Glamorgan suffering their heaviest defeat by a runs margin in their brief history.

Hampshire ran up a massive 201 for three in 20 overs, Francesca Sweet hitting 77, before restricting Glamorgan to 104-9.

The Welsh side will now turn their attention back to the Blast League Two, where they are strongly placed to qualify for the Finals Day being held at their Sophia Gardens headquarters.

England's Maia Boucher launched the run-blitz with 63 off 42 balls before falling to Glamorgan's most economical bowler Sara Phillips (1-26), while Abi Norgrove hit 47.

Sweet, who looked set to join Glamorgan at one stage in the winter, pummelled her runs off just 35 balls to take the target way beyond reach.

Glamorgan's top five were bamboozled by Hawks spinners Bex Tyson (3-25) and Georgia Adams with only Bea Ellis (13) in double figures as they crashed to 26-5.

Gemma Porter and Eve Jackson (14) halted the slide briefly while Porter top-scored with 23 before being run out, the ninth wicket falling in the 16th over.

Poppy Walker (19 not out) and Katy Cobb batted out time to reduce the margin of defeat.
