beIN Sports commentator Hafid Derradji has launched strong criticism at the sanctions imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following the incidents that marred the Africa Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco. According to him, the way this case was handled only fueled the controversy instead of putting an end to it.

Derradji believes the final did not end with the referee's final whistle, but rather dragged on off the pitch until the late announcement of disciplinary sanctions.

The decisions included sanctions against Senegal's coach Pape Thiaw and his player Ismaïla Sarr, as well as Moroccan internationals Achraf Hakimi and Ismaïl Saibari. In addition, hefty financial penalties were levied on the Senegalese and Moroccan football federations, with a combined total exceeding one million dollars.

The Algerian commentator questioned the relevance of these measures, especially since CAF has not officially congratulated the Senegalese team on their continental triumph.

He concluded by noting that the final only ended from an administrative standpoint, while sending his congratulations to Senegal and wishing Morocco better success in the future.

Derradji fiercely criticizes CAF's decisions!

"Much ado about nothing. At last... the longest final in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations has come to an end.A final that didn't end with the referee's whistle, but spilled far beyond the field: into TV studios, newspapers, and across social media, before reaching the corridors of the Confederation of African Football. The latter announced, at two in the morning, disciplinary sanctions targeting Senegalese coach Pape Thiaw, his player Ismaïla Sarr, as well as Moroccan players Achraf Hakimi and Ismaïl Saibari.Financial penalties were also imposed on the Senegalese and Moroccan federations, totaling more than one million dollars: $715,000 for Senegal and $315,000 for Morocco.CAF tried to salvage what was left of its credibility...But the essential question remains: did it really succeed, or did it instead deepen the doubts and confusion? And above all, when will the Confederation of African Football officially congratulate the Senegalese team for their continental title, as tradition dictates? It's a final that ended on paper, but remains alive in the memory and in the many unanswered questions.Congratulations to Senegal and best of luck to Morocco."
