Gymnast Reuben Ward says it's "an incredible honour" after it was announced that he will be Team Scotland's flag bearer for the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony later on Sunday.
The 21-year-old became the first Scottish man to win all-around gymnastics gold last week and followed it up with pommel horse silver.
Bury-born Ward missed the opening ceremony as he had the team competition the following day, but will carry the Saltire flag on to The Hydro stage this time.
He follows in the footsteps of Team Scotland colleagues Eilish McColgan and Duncan Scott, who had the same accolade in 2022 and 2018 respectively.
"It's an incredible honour to have been asked to carry the flag," Ward said. "It caps an unbelievable Games for not only myself but Scottish gymnastics as a whole.
"Glasgow 2026 will live with me for the rest of my life. I'll never forget the noise of the Scottish crowd when I won the gold medal."
