A decades-long boxing enmity between two families is planned for a revival when Conor Benn faces Chris Eubank Jr. in a grudge contest that has been more than two years before actualization.

The pair meets barely more than 30 years after the last match between their iconic fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn.

With the sons' bout looming, it only feels right to begin with the contention between Chris Eubank and Nigel Benn.

The two contests between these two stalwarts still linger in people’s memories to date, with their aptitude to bring Britain to a halt.

However, Groves, who included two of his feuds above it, says the pair’s rivalry comes fourth on the list.

“Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn are number one. You can't argue with that. Because of the fights and the buildup, Carl Froch is next. There was nothing like it, and I don't think there'll be anything like it again. I think the third is me and James DeGale. When have you seen two guys from the same gym who hate each other go in totally different directions? Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr are probably fourth in the list thanks to the fact that it's been brewing for years, the egg slap and the doping scandal,” said George Groves in an exclusive interview with the Crowns Gym's Press Insights.

The duo had initially been booked to fight in October 2022, before the match was annulled when Benn failed two drug tests.

Elsewhere, when it comes to the revival of British boxing, major credit has to go to Carl Froch alongside his archrival George Groves.
