WATERTOWN — Seniors Abby Kjenstad, Lucas Johnson, Jarrett Bauer and Teresa DeVries spearheaded the list of students who received special awards in the Great Plains Lutheran's Spring Awards Program on Friday, May 22, 2026.
Awards were presented for boys and girls golf and track, spring theater and music along with other special honors.
Kjenstad, Bauer and DeVries served as valedictorians for the Class of 2026 during graduation ceremonies. Kjenstad and Johnson were named the female and male Career Athletes, respectively.
Other special awards included:
Boys — Barrett Pommer, MVP; Asher Schaffer, Panther Award; and Sam Tomczak, Most Improved.
Girls — Addison Walkins, MVP and Panther Award; and Lucy Roberts, Most Improved.

Boys — Milo Schumacher, MVP; Elijah Radtke, Panther Award; and Alex Kakacek, Newcomer.
Girls — Abby Kjenstad, MVP; Katherine Prahl, Panther Award; and Hailey Rosa, Newcomer.
Walkins and Justin Tucker, Oustanding Performers; Emily Moritz and William Krenz, Panther Award; Quintin Rosenthal, Outstanding Chorus Member in the musical; and Thaddeus Rosenthal, Best Debut Performance.
Krenz, Carter Hinners, Tucker and Lydia Wolfe, Director's Award for Excellence in Choir; Jacob Heil and Kate Holmen, National School Choral Award; Prahl and Caleb Kleinsasser, Patrick S. Gilmore Award; Wolfe, John Philip Sousa Band Award; Prahl, Panther Music Award.
Lauren Hansen, Onesimus Award.
